The last few weeks have been hot and dry like summer, but that will be over by tomorrow at the latest. The temperatures remain warm, but for the foreseeable future it will be more changeable overall.

Finally! Eating ice cream, going swimming, lying in the sun, sitting outside until late in the evening without having to put anything on: This is what the last few weeks have looked like. But some people have also suffered from the heat and should be happy that the weather is now changing and that a change in the weather is in the offing.

As reported by the German Weather Service (DWD), we will see clouds again and again in the near future, with rain, showers and thunderstorms in some areas. And even maximum temperatures of around 30 degrees remain the exception for the time being.

The dry heat is over

The weekend was still hot like summer, with temperatures up to 32 degrees Celsius. However, showers and strong thunderstorms are already expected in the north this Monday. In the south it will remain sunny, and in the southeast the temperatures will rise again to up to 33 degrees Celsius.

After that, things will continue to change for the foreseeable future. The maximum values only crack the 30 degree mark in exceptional cases. According to the DWD, it will be cloudy in the north on Wednesday, with showers and thunderstorms expected in the north-east. Rain is also possible in the northwest.

Until next week we can expect temperatures between 20 and 28 degrees. So it will remain warm in summer, but it will be more unstable – with passing clouds and rain in places. Strong thunderstorms are also possible at any time.

Changeable summer weather

According to “The Weather Channel”, the reason for the inconsistency in the change in weather over the Atlantic is: The jet stream is now increasingly sending low-pressure areas to Germany – including cool Atlantic air. It would stay warm in the sun, but as soon as the sun goes away, it gets cool quickly.

Mid-summer is expected to return in mid-July

From the third week of July, dry, hot summer weather could prevail again, because then, according to “The Weather Channel”, a high pressure area will build up again over Europe.
