The team behind the successful Netflix series “The Witcher” has confirmed that the shooting of the second season is in the can.

All scenes of the upcoming second season of “The Witcher” are in the can! Netflix has now confirmed this on Twitter. The streaming giant shared with fans including a short video, in which parts of the production team, including showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (42), celebrate the end of the shooting. On an additionally published photo you can see the main actor Henry Cavill (37), who plays Geralt von Rivia, with a clapperboard in his hand.

It is also already clear when fans can expect the new episodes. Netflix confirmed that the second season should appear in 2021. It is likely that it won’t happen until the end of the year, however.

New cast members for the series

The cast around Henry Cavill, Freya Allan (19, Ciri) and Anya Chalotra (24, Yennefer) should increase by seven well-known actors in the new season, as the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” recently reported. One of the newcomers is therefore Adjoa Andoh (58), known as Lady Danbury from “Bridgerton”. Also new: “Bridgerton” colleague Chris Fulton (32) and character mime Graham McTavish (60), known from “Outlander” among others.

The “The Witcher” series is based on the books by the Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski (72), which are also the model for a video game series.
