This young British girl asks her grandmothers to be bridesmaids at her wedding

In order to maintain her marriage, Megan Kennedy, a young Briton, has had to deal with numerous organizational changes linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It's a lovely story straight from the UK. With the Covid-19 pandemic, many festivities, especially weddings, have come to a halt, or have to be completely overhauled in order to adapt to different health measures.

Megan Kennedy chose the latter option. To cope with a small get-together wedding while enjoying the whole of her family, the young Briton found the solution: ask her two grandmothers to be her bridesmaids.

A totally overhauled marriage

Megan Kennedy was due to marry her fiancé Thomas Cahoon in March 2020. But with the first wave of the coronavirus epidemic, the ceremony had to be postponed: the marriage was finally postponed until October 2020, with many restrictions.

In particular the number of guests, which had to be drastically reduced. From 200 people, the ceremony could only number 15 people to respect social distancing and health measures in the UK. Unfortunately, the bridesmaid initially chosen by the bride-to-be could no longer attend the wedding. To replace her, Megan Kennedy found the ideal solution: ask her two grandmothers to replace her.

So Mary Kennedy, 90, and Gillian Holloway, 80, were by her side on D-Day. During the ceremony, everything was in place to protect the new bridesmaids. The rest of the guests were asked to respect all barrier gestures and the couple to be married to isolated themselves during the 10 days before the wedding. After the ceremony, the three women were able to pose for a few shots in front of a wedding photographer, to capture this beautiful moment.
