Tim Allen and Richard Karn: "Listen who's hammering" stars get a new TV show

Two of the stars from the hit sitcom "Listen, who hammers there" will return to TV next year – with a home improvement show.

Fans of the hit sitcom "Listen, who's hammering" can look forward to: Tim Allen (67, "Galaxy Quest") and Richard Karn (64) will soon be back in front of the camera together. The two return to TV with a DIY show. The reports the US entertainment magazine "Entertainment Weekly". However, the two will probably no longer slip into the roles of Tim Taylor (Allen) and Al Borland (Karn).

For 2021, a new format under the working title "Assembly Required" is planned for the pay channel "History". The station has now made it public. For now, they want to produce ten episodes. The new show focuses on home improvement workers from the United States who can not only fix broken household items, but maybe even improve them. A competition is to be made out of this. How exactly this should take place is not yet known.

Living in a throwaway society

Everyone will appear as executive producer in the new format and can also be seen, while Karn is to moderate the show. "Let's just say how it is – we live in a throwaway society," Allen is quoted as saying. "What happened to repairs and rebuilding?" Allen created a show to remind people of the pride that comes with rebuilding something.

In 2018 there were reports that a revival of "Listen, who hammers" was planned, but to date nothing has officially emerged in this direction.
