Tonight on Netflix: simply one of Clint Eastwood’s best films

Want to watch one of Clint Eastwood’s classics? So, we strongly advise you to (re)discover the powerful “Mystic River”, available on Netflix.

Clint Eastwood’s filmography is dotted with many classics, including a perfect work according to AlloCiné. Merciless, Inspector Harry, Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, A Perfect World… We can no longer count the films of the Hollywood legend which have marked the history of the seventh art.

The great Clint Eastwood film that we invite you to (re)discover today has just celebrated its two decades. An idea ? It’s about thriller Mystic River, big screen adaptation of the novel by Dennis Lehane and which is currently available on Netflix.

Mystic River, presented in Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival, tells the story of three childhood friends who, a quarter of a century after losing touch, are reunited again when a murder case breaks out. It is the daughter of one of them who is found murdered…

A twilight thriller of great power, both ambitious and very simple, Mystic River is a marvel. Eastwood, with the classicism of his staging, delivers a moving work which probes human complexity. And offers superb roles to its actors, notably Sean Penn and Tim Robbins, respectively awarded the Oscar for Best Actor and the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.

With 156 million dollars in revenue, Mystic River is one of Clint Eastwood’s good results at the global box office, the performance figures being at the level of that of Merciless. In France, the feature film attracted more than 1.2 million spectators.

For the little and tasty anecdote, Eli Wallach, who had opposite Clint Eastwood in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, makes a small cameo in Mystic River, playing the role of a grocer.
