Tonight on TV: Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren board a submarine for an authentic encounter

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. Tonight: a supercharged action film with two very big guns from Hollywood cinema.

Want to get your fill of action in the company of two very big Hollywood stars this Wednesday evening? So head to Paris Première for a pure guilty pleasure: Black Water, worn by Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren!

Released directly on VOD in 2018, the very muscular Black Water tells the story of Special Agent Scott Wheeler (Van Damme) who, when he wakes up, is injured and handcuffed to a chair. Impossible for him to remember who his captors are or how he ended up in this room. After undergoing a tough first interrogation, Wheeler is now certain that he will never leave this place alive.

A closed door in a submarine

As he hatches an escape plan to save his skin, Marco (Lundgren), his cellmate, tells him that they are being held in a secret and heavily protected site: a nuclear submarine submerged at a depth of 1500 meters.

Action, suspense, all behind closed doors in a submarine with the iconic duo JCVD / Dolph Lundgren who finds himself after Universal Soldier… Honestly, what more could you ask for when you’re a fan of muscular cinema from the 80s and 90s? It is certain, this Black Water is far from being Citizen Kane, it is not a film that shines for its realism or its finesse, but it still has the merit of being entertaining.

Van Damme’s son in the casting!

Here, we are in front of a big B series that is struggling and even, let’s not be afraid of words, in front of a good big competitive guy. But how good does it feel! It backfires in every corner, it crashes all over the place, there is even Kris Van Damme, the son of, in the credits… In short, we put our neurons far away, we wedge ourselves in our chair and we dive without retained in this Black Water who is moving!

Tonight on Paris Première at 12:45 a.m.
