Germans watch more TV in the corona pandemic. The industry recorded growth in 2020. The measure of all things: the Münster "crime scene".

The corona pandemic caused a significant increase in TV ratings in the past year. As the AGF Video Research announced, 72 percent of Germans aged 14 and over turned on the television every day. An increase of an impressive 3.1 percent compared to 2019. On average, every viewer aged three and over watched a TV set for 3 hours and 40 minutes a day – even though large sports events such as the Olympic Games or the European football championship could not take place at all.

In the hit list of the most watched programs in 2020, two "Tatort" films from Münster say hello from the top spots: On December 13th, around 13.78 million people watched the thriller "Long live the King!", On December 8th, 13.15 Millions of viewers for the episode "Limbus" with the main actors Jan Josef Liefers (56) and Axel Prahl (60) the first. Third place is the Champions League final between Paris St. Germain and FC Bayern Munich on 23 August on ZDF with 12.81 million fans on the screens.

The top five complete the "heute journal" on ZDF on the day of Bayern's triumph in the summer with 12.42 million and the "Tagesschau" on March 22nd from the first wave of infections on March 22nd with 12.40 million viewers. In the advertising-relevant target group of 14 to 49 year olds, Bavaria triumphed against Paris in front of the "heute journal", the "Tagesschau" and the "Tatort: ​​Long Live the King!"
