“TV is really great humiliations”: Camille Chamoux recounts his beginnings

INTERVIEW

Like many comedians, she made her debut with a television column. But she didn’t quite love the experience. Camille Chamoux is the guest on Monday of Winter club. She tells with humor the time when she wrote a column on the Canal + show The new edition, after being spotted during one of her first scenes. “It’s not a good memory at all!” She writes with a smile of television.

“There are obviously moments of dazzling and moments of good memories,” she says. “But I still think you have to be clear-headed about your talents and abilities in life. And I don’t think I was a flow girl. It’s not my thing. I like to prepare like a girl. little ant for a long time, take care of the writing, take care of the interpretation and show a product, not totally finished, but all the same extremely polished and extremely worked. “

“You see yourself doing something not funny in front of people wearing orange makeup”

Quite the opposite of the chronicle on television, according to Camille Chamoux. “For the chronicle, you throw yourself headlong into something for three or four hours, you deliver it the next morning, it has to be insane,” she explains. “And then it’s over. And forever, even when you messed up.”

In addition to the particular rhythm of the TV chronicle, the comedian had to rely on current events. Which is not quite his cup of tea. “I keep up to date, of course, and I follow the news, but that’s not my primary focus of humor. So yeah, there were flashes and awesome times. But there were times. atrocious, ”she says. “And then it’s big humiliations. TV is really big humiliations where, suddenly, you experience it like a nightmare.”

A nightmare that she describes with humor: “At one point, you see yourself doing something not funny in front of people wearing orange makeup and you ask me ‘But what happened in my life? Why? I do this thing. Everything is weird. There was an audience, but they were forced to laugh, that we hit! “, she jokes. “The audience was white-hot by a weird auditorium driver. Everything was weird!”
