Afghanistan returnee Jack Ryan (Chris Pine) craves calm and therefore takes an office job on Wall Street. But his new boss, CIA agent William Harper (Kevin Costner), has other plans for him. Ryan is said to prevent a terrorist attack that an oligarch wants to shut down the US economy on behalf of the Russian government. As an undercover agent, Ryan makes his way to Moscow.
