Every day, insurance agent Michael McCauley (Liam Neeson) commutes to work from a tranquil suburb to Manhattan. But one evening everything is different: a stranger sits down with him and he becomes the center of criminal activity. His job not only puts him at risk, but also the other passengers and his family.

A lively place in the middle of the city, 12:00 noon. The student Mina Jiang (Yun Huang) is still waving to her fellow student Luise (Paula Kroh) from a distance when she suddenly collapses dead. A shot in the back of the head leads Commissioners Rubin (Meret Becker) and Karow (Mark Waschke) into the historic center of Berlin. An initial assessment shows that the shot was fired from a building not far away, the "Berlin School of Law", a private elite university for the training of lawyers.

Eric spends many nights in electro clubs. He is stealing. He's fighting. He is on trial at least once a year – until he meets Anja (Peri Baumeister). He wants to get clean for them. The two go to Berlin together. There Eric begins studying drama and seems to be getting his life under control. But then Anja breaks his heart.
