Two people were shot dead and two others seriously injured in the night from Saturday to Sunday in front of the terrace of a café in Pont-Saint-Esprit (Gard) by a group of hooded people who fled, he said. we learned on Sunday from the Nîmes public prosecutor’s office.

“The two deceased people were aged 24 and 25. One of them was known to the courts for offenses against drug legislation and pimping. The second was unknown to the justice services” , explained in a press release the public prosecutor of Nîmes, Cécile Gensac.

This “shooting” took place “around 2:00 a.m.” in front of “the terrace of a closed café” in Pont-Saint-Esprit, a town located about sixty kilometers north of Nîmes, added Cécile Gensac .

“Convicted of pimping offences”

“The shots came from a group of hooded individuals, having fired directly at the people present” before leaving “in a vehicle,” detailed the prosecutor. Firefighters said they had transported the two injured people to the Nîmes hospital center.

The latter are aged “24 and 25 years”, affirmed Cécile Gensac, explaining that one of them was notably “convicted for pimping offences”, while the second is “unknown to the justice services” . The investigations “were entrusted to the Bagnols-sur-Cèze research brigade, reporting to the Gard gendarmerie group,” added the magistrate.
