two huge surprises for French fans

The Naruto manga is about to celebrate its 25th anniversary. For the occasion, publisher Kana unveils two exceptional surprises for French fans of the legendary ninja and his successor, Boruto.

Demon Slayer, One Piece, Naruto… Otakus are spoiled this year! THE manga still has the wind in its sails in France. Sales of volumes are not weakening while SVOD platforms specializing in anime provide the community with ever more cult and new titles.

So the publishers understood that French fans were still loyal to the post, and they rewarded them well for that. Determined to keep this community alive, they are increasingly working to organize events which allow them to share their passion together.

This year, for example, the anime One Piece celebrates its quarter century of existence. For this occasion, Toei is organizing a meeting with great fanfare in Paris next month. But 2024 won’t just be the year of the Straw Hat. Another cult work shares the same anniversary.

Recognizable by his blond hair and his forehead protector, Naruto He is also 25 years old. The publication of Masashi Kishimoto’s manga began in 1999 and extended until 2014 (or 2016 here). Since then, the ninja has handed over the baton to a new generation of budding genin with the Boruto series.

For this occasion, the French publisher Kana will please fans in 2024. In collaboration with Japan, two excellent surprises are arriving in the coming months. Sharpen your kunai, summer is going to be as hot as a Katon technique!

The Boruto sequel is finally coming to us

Despite the end of the Naruto manga and anime, the doors have not closed on the village of Konoha. Young ninjas carry their parents’ legacy high in manga Boruto—Naruto Next Generations. In this direct sequel, the children of our first heroes face new challenges and, above all, a threat that could change the face of the world.

Since 2016, the new generation of ninjas continues to thrill the hearts of fans. Despite an anime sometimes criticized for its surplus of filer episodes, the volumes are selling like hotcakes, in Japan as in France.

But, last year, the series took a voluntary break to better come back with a vengeance. As for Naruto who was entitled to two very distinct parts in anime with Naruto Shippudena time ellipse in the story line allows the Boruto manga to split its story with a new series which follows on from Naruto Next Generations.

Thus, since 2023, the adventures of Naruto’s son have continued on paper under the title Boruto—Two Blue Vortex…at least, in Japan. In fact, French fans are waiting to get their hands on the sequel to the manga. While indicators pointed towards a release for 2025, Kana announced it yesterday: the second part of Boruto’s adventures will arrive in 2024, this summer!

An exceptional visit to France

This is not the only news that the French publisher has had to announce to us. Having prepared the news thanks to an online countdown, we impatiently waited for the minutes to finish ticking to find out what still awaited us after the communication dedicated to Boruto. And I might as well tell you that this second announcement was unexpected.

It’s official: for the very first time in France, Masashi Kishimoto, the author of Naruto, will be in Paris on Saturday August 24 and Sunday August 25. The mangaka has not left Japan for a dozen years and has never met the French public. It is therefore an exceptional meeting that Kana, in partnership with the ADN platform, is offering us.

But that’s not all because the creator of the franchise will not be alone. He will come accompanied by Mikio Ikemotohis former assistant who took over the manga Boruto, carrying the legacy of his master in the image of their heroes with the forehead protector.

For the moment, details of the two announcements have not been communicated. We will therefore have to wait to find out the exact release date of Boruto — Two Blue Vortex in France, as well as the organization of the meeting with Kishimoto and Ikemoto. But one thing is certain: it is a memorable birthday which is coming to us for Naruto!
