Nora confesses

Nora can no longer keep her secret and admits to Thierry being responsible for Vincent’s death. She was alone on the passageway when the young man came running towards her. Panicked, she gassed him. But she could never have imagined Vincent going over the railing.

Nora is aware of having committed a serious fault. Thierry reassures her, they were understaffed, she did the best. He promises her that he won’t say anything. But once Nora has left, Thierry calls his contact at the union to tell him that he knows the identity of the person responsible for Vincent’s death.

The next morning, Becker receives a call from his ex-wife. Claudine learned about his suspension, and she says she is wholeheartedly with him. The lawyer then suggests that Becker set up a detective agency, but Becker takes it badly. He reminds her that for the moment, he hasn’t been kicked out and hangs up on her.

For his part, Judge Laplace summoned Nora. He accuses her of being responsible for the death of Vincent Garand and advises her not to aggravate her case by lying. He also urges her to admit it now or it might cost her dearly. Once out of the magistrate’s office, Nora bursts into tears.

A little later in the day, Florent receives Carine and Maéva in his office. He informs them that a peacekeeper has confessed. Nora admits having sprayed Vincent with gas because she was afraid.

Blinded, he lost his balance and fell over the edge. Florent also explains to them that Nora will be indicted for assault and battery resulting in death without intention of giving it. He thinks she’ll get a suspended sentence.

Maéva is revolted, and believes that justice is not doing its job. Florent then specifies that Nora will be removed from the police. For Carine, the most important thing is to know the name of the person responsible for Vincent’s death.

Louis and Kira determined to stop a real estate project

Louis and his grandfather have planned to go fishing together. The teenager offers his father to accompany them but the latter prefers to decline the invitation, because he wants to move forward with his investigation into the expulsion of Carine and her daughter.

Along the way, Jacques and Louis decide to take a detour through the old fields. But when they get there, they become disillusioned. They discover that a construction site is in progress in order to build a housing estate.

Jacques is disappointed, the man to whom he sold his land had promised him to continue farming. Louis is angry but Jacques prefers to go home and postpone their fishing trip. He takes his grandson back to Kira.

The teenager tells the whole story to his girlfriend. Kira and Louis are determined to prevent this real estate project from seeing the light of day. The two teenagers explain the situation to Florent. But the latter tells them that the new owner of the farm is in good standing with the law, even if he has not kept his word. Louis and Kira still remain determined to act.

Not far from there, Marc is researching the owner of the apartment occupied by Carine and her mother. He manages to go back to Gaillard, the manager of the real estate company in which Elisabeth has invested. He calls her to her office.

Gaillard confirms that Carine Garand’s former apartment does indeed belong to the property company. Marc then points out that, according to his information, the property company will make a very nice capital gain with the resale of this apartment.

The man replies that his information is incorrect. The apartment will not be sold but re-let to a modest family who needs to be rehoused. Gaillard points out that Carine has received several recommendations to which she has not followed up, and that they are only executing the law. The manager insists they have nothing to hide.
