Joke or reality? – There is not only Craig Wright who claims to have fortunes in bitcoins (BTC) without providing proof. Even if, at least, he does not claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto, the repentant hacker nicknamed “Gummo” claims to own for several billions of dollars from the king of cryptos!
An ex-hacker at the head of 170,000 BTC?
In an interview with the YouTube channel Soft White Underbellythe former hacker gummo explains that he started in piracy a year ago thirty years, for illicit reasons, before being arrested. Since then, he has reconverted and rather gone over to the side of the white hats (hackers who help prevent exploits of computer vulnerabilities).
As Cointelegraph reports in particular, Gummo would have built mining devices of Bitcoin in 2013, at a time when BTC was trading between $200 and $300. Still according to the repentant pirate, he would have amassed a gigantic jackpot of… 179,000 BTC!
With the price of one BTC slightly above $40,000 at the time of this writing, his fortune in Bitcoin would therefore amount to almost $7.2 billion :

Gummo now struggles against what he used to do
