Ute Ohoven: Sad words on Instagram

Ute Ohoven commented on the death of her husband Mario on Instagram. The middle class president was killed last Saturday.

Ute Ohoven (74) spoke up in an Instagram post after the accidental death of her husband Mario Ohoven (1946-2020). "Thank you all for your deep sympathy. My pain and sorrow, which I share with my children, are endless," wrote the Unesco special envoy in white letters on a black background. Mario Ohoven, President of the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Enterprises (BVMW), died last Saturday (October 31) at the age of 74 in a traffic accident.

In addition to his wife, Ohoven leaves behind his daughter Chiara (35) and son Michael (46) Ohoven. The latter recently said goodbye to his father with emotional words on Instagram. "My dad, whom I love forever, my friend, whom I'm always there for, my role model, whom I'm always proud of. I don't want to believe it yet and I will love you forever," he wrote of a picture of the deceased 74-year-old.

Mario Ohoven, born in Neuss (North Rhine-Westphalia) in 1946, came from a traditional entrepreneurial family and was a trained banker. He later worked as an investment advisor. Until 2005 he was managing partner of the Düsseldorf-based Investor- und Treuhand GmbH and since 1998 president of the BVMW.
