The change from the health pass to a vaccination pass, announced by Jean Castex last Friday, seems to have pushed some French people to go to vaccination centers in the days to come.
Indeed, last Friday, 17,000 people made an appointment on the Doctolib platform, in order to receive a first dose of vaccine against Covid-19, or 6,000 more than a week before.
The findings are the same over the weekend. Almost 26,000 slots have been reserved over these two days. A clear increase compared to the 12,000 appointments made in recent weeks. Among these appointments, 95% were made by people under 65 years old.
Booster doses on the rise
Jean Castex’s announcements also seem to have had a lighter impact on the slots reserved for booster doses. Indeed, 430,000 this weekend, against 330,000 the previous one.
As a reminder, last Friday, the Prime Minister announced that he wanted to submit a bill in order to “transform the health pass into a vaccination pass”. The difference is not the least.
The vaccination pass would make the vaccine the only valid justification for having regulatory access to leisure. Where currently the health pass still allows people opposed to the vaccine to do screening tests so as not to be deprived of leisure.
For his part, Olivier Véran, Minister of Health, had declared that the “vaccination pass was a form of compulsory vaccination”.
