(CercleFinance.com) – Ericsson, Deutsche Telekom, BMW, Valeo and Qualcomm are accelerating the future of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS): their collaboration has produced a revolutionary proof of concept, i.e. the first breakdown of 5G Autonomous Network (SA) in the world with controlled network characteristics for Quality of Service (QoS).
The trial successfully used Ericsson’s URSP network slicing function, which dynamically selects and connects multiple slices simultaneously. Even in conditions where many users share the limited resources of the mobile network, the automated driving function has always benefited from the necessary bandwidth resources.
This solution also opens the door to many other uses, applying safety-related functions, remote control functions, such as remote door opening/closing, and assisted and automated driving functions.
