A 21st agent for VALORANT was teased last night in an interview, as the page shares ValorLeaks. In an official developer post on the state of agents as of September 2022, Riot Games provides an update on its characters, through the voice of the producer John Goscicki. And in particular on the lack of manpower on the side of the Controllers, who are currently only four with Viper, Astra, Omen and Brimstone. Three of them have been present since the beta, which makes Riot think that it’s time to refresh the gameplay a little for specialist players. The 21st character that arrives will therefore be a new Controller Agent, a decision that has been made as usual for quite a long time, usually 12 to 14 months before its appearance in the game. After Turkey and Fade in patch 4.08, it will be India which will be in the spotlight for this time. Several clues have been given elsewhere: a first image, an artwork which presents a book placed in front of a port, where we can precisely see a drawing of the country. But also a text:Jald hi milte hainwhich means “See you soonin Hindi, or the name of the image file, samosachaat.jpg, reference to an Indian dish.
The game has evolved, metas have changed, cards have appeared, and knowledge of the game has grown in general. We therefore continue to identify new agent opportunities, 12 to 14 months ahead of their deployment. We found that the controllers are a bit of a dead end, and it looks like we have to go back to ancient times to find our latest new controller, Astra. In addition to Viper, the introduction of controllers capable of covering vast open spaces represents an ocean of opportunity.
Also note that the character should be related to water elements, here again clues are scattered between the port of the image or the use of the term ocean in the text. The arrival should be scheduled for October, and we should know more very soon.
