He wanted to test the capabilities of his new racing car. Radim Passer, a car-loving Czech billionaire, reached the speed of 417 km / h on a highway west of Berlin, relays the Republican East. In Germany, the speed on the autobahn is not limited, unlike in France. The 58-year-old therefore took the opportunity to test the power of his Bugatti Chiron, the value of which is estimated at nearly three million euros. With its 1,500 horsepower under the hood, the car was produced in only 500 copies. Radim Passer published the video of his test on Youtube, which alerted the government across the Rhine.
A prayer before starting
This test has been prepared. “Security was a priority, so everything had to be safe to go there,” replied the billionaire. After a review of the car and a prayer before setting off, Radim Passer made his attempt on a Sunday morning in July 2021, accompanied by his team. It left at dawn around 4:50 a.m., on a straight stretch of 10 kilometers with three lanes and high “visibility”, according to the driver.
The video of his record released this month already has more than 7.5 million views. We see him reaching the crazy speed of 417 km / h, while he exceeds other motorists at high speed on his right. After the publication of the video, the German Ministry of Transport was quick to react in a press release, in which it rejects “any behavior in road traffic which leads or can lead to endangering road users”. According to the German Highway Code, drivers should drive “only at a speed that allows the vehicle to be under control at all times”.
“An incredible experience”
Another motorist present on the highway at the same time testified. “As I drove the yellow Porsche 911 Turbo S at over 200 km/h, I had no idea how the car could overtake me so quickly. The moment the Bugatti passed me was absolutely breathtaking. It was as if a fighter jet was passing. I won’t forget the speed and the roar of the engine. It was an absolutely incredible experience,” he described. Obviously, Radilm Passer was not the only one to test his car that day.
