Video: One of Zinedine Zidane’s sons still scores for France

In the Zidane family, young Elyaz (16) is starting to make a name for himself. Already a scorer with the France U17 team in the fall, the Real Madrid resident did it again on Tuesday in a friendly match won against Denmark at Clairefontaine (3-0).

Born in Marseille in December 2005, the youngest of the four sons of the former playmaker (Enzo, Lucas and Théo are his three other sons) distinguished himself just before the hour mark. On a corner taken by the Montpellier Axel Gueguin, the young man, with the n°8 in the back, rose to the far post to propel the ball with his head into the back of the net and double the bet for the young tricolors (1h28 on the video).

This is the second goal in the France team for Elyaz Zidane, who plays as a left-back. He had been a scorer during his first selection, last October, against Moldova (3-0). The other two tricolor goals were scored by Rennais Désiré Doué, also with a header (17th), and Stéphanois Ayman Aiki, on a service from Doué (58th).

Elyaz Zidane and the France U17 team have another meeting this Friday with the same Danish team. At the end of March, José Alcocer’s players will travel to Luxembourg to participate in the Elite round against England (March 23), Luxembourg (March 26) and Russia (March 29) with the aim of securing their qualification for the final phase of the Euro organized in Israel (May 16-June 1).
