War in Ukraine: Donald Trump underlines the “intelligence” of Vladimir Putin and the “stupidity” of NATO

Vladimir Putin is ‘smart’ and Western leaders who oppose the invasion of Ukraine are ‘dumb’. This is essentially the speech given by Donald Trump, Saturday, February 26, during the great annual convention of American conservatives in Orlando (Florida).

According to the former president of the United States, NATO “looks anything but intelligent” by hitting Russia with economic sanctions, instead of “ripping it to pieces – at least psychologically”.

The “weakness” of Joe Biden

“The problem is not that Putin is smart,” he continued, but “that our leaders are so dumb.” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine happened, according to Donald Trump, because of the “weakness” of his successor, Joe Biden.

Again calling into question the latter’s coming to power, without providing evidence, the former head of state then assured that “this horrible disaster would never have happened if our election had not been rigged”.

Faced with this audience made up of conservatives, Donald Trump did not hesitate to allude to a possible candidacy on his part in 2024. Presenting his defeat in 2020 as a victory, he declared in particular: “We did it twice and we will do it again”.
