“Warhammer 40,000” is based on the tabletop game of the same name and is an upcoming Amazon series by Henry Cavill and Natalie Viscuso. The project was announced in December 2022, shortly after Henry Cavill had to leave his two main roles.
The end of 2022 was an up and down of emotions for Henry Cavill. In October 2022, the actor announced that he would be returning to the DCU as Superman. A short time later it was announced that he was giving up his role as Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix series “The Witcher”.
Then the blow came in December 2022: Henry Cavill lost his role as Superman. The new CEOs of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran, have new plans for the superhero and are therefore looking for a younger actor to play the Man of Steel in the future.
But even if the shock was initially deep, just one day after the bad news about Superman, Henry Cavill made an announcement that made many of the actor’s fans all the more happy. Cavill announced via Instagram that he is planning a “Warhammer 40,000” series for Amazon Prime Video together with Natalie Viscuso.

In January 2024, Henry Cavill stated in an interview with the US magazine “Collider” that work on “Warhammer” was progressing very well and that he was looking forward to what was to come.

The strategy game is set in a dystopian future in which civilization is plagued by war and suffering. The universe of “Warhammer” is rich in lore with complicated backstories and complex characters.
