Warzone: RICOCHET, the anti-cheat, already bypassed by the cheaters who are back

At the end of the year 2021, the players of the franchise were able to discover a new anti-cheating system, named RICOCHET, which aims to eradicate the majority of cheaters, whether in Warzone or annual episodes, starting with Vanguard. If the results were good for a few weeks, it would appear that this one has now become obsolete.

Indeed, whether on social networks or Reddit, messages from players who have had to deal with this type of user are more and more numerous, meaning that this recently implemented system is no longer necessarily efficient. Dr. Disrespect, a well-known content creator, who has also opened his own studio, also paid the price for these cheaters, who keep ruining players’ games.

However, Activision had planned, from the announcement of RICOCHET, that it would be continuously updated and that the version released at the end of the year was not the definitive anti-cheat system. Hopefully the studio reacts quickly to limit these cheaters. Moreover, in the meantime, some console players are asking that cross-play be activated only for consoles, since a large part of cheaters evolve on PC. The first improvements could arrive with season 2.

Either way, Activision takes anti-cheating seriously, as the company recently sued one of Warzone’s largest cheat distributors, demanding financial compensation. A good start to, perhaps, dissuade others from embarking on such an adventure.
