Gérard Darmon persists and signs. Conspired, on social networks, for almost 48 hours and his diatribe against Edwy Plenel on the set of We are live, the actor decided to give it a layer, this Monday, February 7. Guest of L’heure des pros on CNews, the 73-year-old comedian felt that the surge of hatred, of which he is the target, was not fair. “I just spoke quite calmly with someone on a set, with whom I do not completely agree. I gave my opinion. I realize that it is not very good . There is an outcry from, probably, Mediapart subscribers. A torrent of hatred that is absolutely implausible”, he confided.

Gérard Darmon continued by estimating having been elegant with the founder of Mediapart. “It made me smile at first. Then, afterwards, I say to myself: ‘My god, I who went through a lot of time, before we could express ourselves’. He does not seem to me to have been aggressive. I simply said that I did not agree with his methods. And I repeat it. I think that he should salute the discretion and the elegance with which I spoke to him.”, explained the actor, adding that he could have gone much further by telling him “much more brutal and much stronger things”.

This Saturday, February 5, on the set of We are live, Gérard Darmon attacked Edwy Plenel and his methods directly. “I don’t find that your methods are very effective, there is something a little Tartuffe in your speech that bothers me. Being a judge and a policeman from time to time by throwing information, making phone calls and giving things in loucedé, that’s what I blame you for and I don’t like this way of doing things”, had launched the comedian to the totally flabbergasted journalist. As soon as the sequence was broadcast, social networks had a blast against the actor who was also the target of numerous criticisms by journalists defending their colleague.
