As every year, on this December 1, the day is dedicated to the fight against AIDS. Today, it is alongside the makeup brand MAC that we are committed by offering a lipstick in favor of the cause.
It’s been 27 years since the essential make-up brand MAC launched its MAC VIVA GLAM program, at the height of the AIDS epidemic, to help people affected by HIV. Created in 1994, VIVA GLAM lipstick was then done the standard of this commitment, displaying his tube and his blue grape during a campaign for a good cause.
But more than the daring look of its red, it was the brand’s unusually generous initiative that was most talked about at the time: MAC donated not part but the entire purchase price of its product – now cultured – at the MAC AIDS Fund, a fund set up (that same year) to support people of all ages, races and genders affected by AIDS and provide financial support to organizations working in disadvantaged regions and populations.
A pioneer in the financing of the fight against HIV, the MAC brand is still renewing its commitment today with a collaboration who wants to be a “Tribute to the artistic and philanthropic heritage of Keith haring”, a Symbolist artist who worked to raise awareness about the disease through his art and who died of complications from AIDS in 1990.

To celebrate 27 years of donation which have already raised more than $ 500,000,000 (or € 441,357,500) worldwide, Mac is launching, this year 2021, three special editions of its flagship lipsticks Viva Glam whose shades highlight the primary color palette dear to Keith Haring (red, yellow and blue) and whose tubes are decorated with different works of the artist. The shades Red Haring (red) and Canal blue (blue) are revealed in matte finish while the shade St. Mark Yellow (yellow) deposits a pearly finish on the lips.
To wear alone or in a more creative way by mixing two shades to create new ones to play the artists and invent more and more beauty looks, these lipsticks sold at the price of 20.50 euros unity allow you to make an easy gesture in favor of the fight against AIDS since 100% of their sale price is donated to the MAC VIVA GLAM Fund *.
