Now the start date has also been set: On November 23, Netflix will release the “Addams Family” again. Then the remake “Wednesday” starts.

It starts on November 23rd! Like the Netflix streaming service on Friday announced, will then start the new “Addams Family” series “Wednesday” worldwide. At the center of the horror comeback of director eccentric Tim Burton (64) is the life of the now teenage daughter Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega (19). Catherine Zeta-Jones (52) slips into the role of the matriarch Morticia, Luis Guzmán (66) embodies Papa Gomez. The series classic “The Addams Family” flickered in the original version in 1964 for the first time on the screens.

Burton himself took the director’s chair on four of the eight episodes planned so far. He’s also on board the remake as a producer. It is his first commitment to a TV or streaming production. The script for the series was penned by “Smallville” creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (both 55).

“Wednesday”: Full of mystery, madness and murder

In a first trailer Netflix already gave an insight into the series. Deep black humor garnished with numerous scary elements is expected. It’s supposed to be a mixture of horror comedy, coming-of-age story and detective story. Describing what happened in the trailer, Wednesday himself said: “Filled with mystery, madness and murder – I think I’m going to love it here.”
