On July 9, Bénabar was to perform on the stage of the Brumes festival. But for lack of tickets sold, the singer had no other choice than to cancel his concert.
Bénabar fans will certainly be disappointed. Some had planned to attend the singer’s concert scheduled for July 9 at the Brumes festival. But they weren’t enough… This Friday, June 24, the organization of the event announced that the representation of Bénabar was canceled because too few places had been sold. “It is with great disappointment and immense sadness that we are forced to announce the cancellation of the second evening of the Les Brumes en jeunes Loire festival which was to take place on Saturday July 9th at the Sainte-Sigolène sports complex”could we read in a press release published on the festival website.
“The level of attendance at the concerts of the evening with Bénabar as headliners, three weeks before the launch of the event, forces us to take the painful and reasonable decision not to maintain this evening, in order not to face to very important management problems and thus definitively jeopardize the future of the Brumes”, explains the organization, which ensures that alone “a few hundred tickets have been sold to date (…) while the profitability of such an evening requires much more”. In the rest of its press release, the festival where Bénabar was to perform wanted to be completely transparent with its fans: “The inflationary economic situation and the anxiety-provoking international context are considerably constraining the resumption of live performance activity and more particularly summer festivals, which are facing, for the most part, a sharp decline in their reservations”.
Bénabar: other concerts planned
Obviously, the tickets purchased to attend this evening and the Bénabar concert will be “reimbursable”, as announced by the festival. In the coming days, fans “will receive the procedure to follow from their point of sale”further specifies the organization. For his part, the singer did not react to this cancellation. But a few days ago, he was delighted to find his admirers during a festival tour. “The Indociles tour is over but the festival tour is starting, I’m waiting for you! Where can we meet?”, he wrote on his social networks. They will be able to find the interpreter of the Having dinner on several stages this summer: at the Horizons festival in Saint-Avertin, at the Evian Scènes festival or even at the Foire en Scène in Châlon en Champagne.
