Yonne: a “rave-party” of 1,500 people mobilizes the police

About 1,500 people and around 500 vehicles have been identified since this New Year’s Eve around the Saint-Florentin plant (Yonne). An important security device was put in place by the gendarmerie which opened an investigation for an illegal festive gathering.

Since that night, a security perimeter has been set up all around the industrial zone of La Saunière, where the factory is located. In addition to securing the area around the site and traffic routes, alcohol and narcotics checks are carried out by the gendarmerie.

In a press release issued at midday, the Yonne prefecture indicated that it had established a link with the public prosecutor so that an investigation could be opened for “unlawful organization of a festive musical gathering” ;

An improvised rave party

This Friday, December 31, the revelers had first made an appointment in the parking lot of a shopping center in Migennes before deciding to then go to the neighboring town. Inside the vehicles, speakers have been placed in order to emit music. Firecrackers were also heard.

During the night, the firefighters had to intervene because of the condition of one of the participants in the rave party, following the taking of drugs.

The police headquarters, which specified that “the state services are fully mobilized to liberate the area” announced a new press release at the end of the day. For their part, the revelers still present seem determined to continue the rave-party over the next few hours.
