a huge novelty that can change everything

Cyberpunk 2 is being very discreet, but we have just learned that it could benefit from a big addition that was not in 2077. And that could change everything.

Cyberpunk 2 is already shaping up to be a worthy successor to 2077. So yes, we don’t know much about it, but CD Projekt’s few interventions on the subject have aroused fans’ curiosity. Of course, it will probably be different from its predecessor, with new features, among other things. Moreover, one of the studio’s thinking heads has just made a rather interesting revelation. Perhaps we should expect quite a change.

Multiplayer in Cyberpunk 2?

The first opus may have had a chaotic launch, but it was able to get back on its feet thanks to the numerous updates deployed by the firm. Now, if we look at Cyberpunk 2, what more could it add? According to some people, the addition of multiplayer cannot be ruled out, via one or more modes for example. It remains to be seen whether this is in CD Projekt Red’s plans, and that is precisely what Reuters asked. The interview therefore allowed us to obtain an answer that was intriguing to say the least.

Michal Nowakowski, co-CEO of the company, took part in the interview. When asked this famous question, he explained that it was being studied. There is therefore the possibility of seeing multiplayer emerge in Cyberpunk 2. Be careful, for the moment, it is better not to get carried away too quickly. He said they were considering such an addition, without saying it was going to be the case. When in doubt, it is better to take a grain of salt, but the implementation of this mode will clearly raise various and varied questions.

Yes, if multiplayer were to see the light of day in Cyberpunk 2, what form will it take? A simple example, will we be dealing with cooperation, or PvP (player versus player)? Will it be an extraction shooter, or even a battle royale? How about a racing game? The mystery remains, and we certainly won’t have the answer anytime soon.

The location of the plot discovered?

In the words of Igor Sarzynski, the game’s narrative director, Cyberpunk 2077 “was just a warm-up.” For now, it’s hard to know what that entails, but the community is curious. First, she would like to know the name of the city where the plot will take place. And indeed, she may have been flushed out. When you walk around Night City, it is possible to come across posters promoting a quick trip between two destinations: the city of 2077 and… Chicago. The infrastructure is scheduled to open in 2080, which would indicate the year in which the events of the sequel will take place.

For many players, this is just a coincidence. Advertisements are found everywhere in Cyberpunk 2077. The problem is that there are some who think that this poster has been there since the last update. So the studio would have slipped it in with complete discretion? For others, it has been there since launch. So, who to believe? Well, we can’t say anything yet. We hope that we will know more during 2024.
