Age of Empires IV: soon a port on Xbox consoles?

Although some types of games are more easily playable with keyboard and mouse on PC, this does not necessarily prevent them from being released on home consoles with gameplay suitable for controllers. This was the case recently for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and Xbox Game Studios could put the cover back with Age of Empires IV.

The site Aggiornamenti Lumia, which scans the changes made on the servers of the Microsoft Store, discovered thata certain file XIP_CAR_JANUARY_2022 (aka CARDINAL_JANUARY_2022) was available for internal testing on the Xbox insider Hub. Acronym XIP could mean Xbox Insider Preview and especially, Cardinal was the code name used during the testing phases for AoE IV. Does this mean that tests are underway to optimize the RTS for home consoles? Only on Xbox Series X | S like MSF, or also on Xbox One? We may know more about this in the coming weeks.

Until then Age of Empires IV, which will be entitled to additional content regularly on PC, is available from € 59.99 on Amazon.com.
