Comedian Amy Schumer and CNBC star Marcus Lemonis tipped $ 30,000 at a Manhattan comedy hangout.

US comedian Amy Schumer (40) and CNBC star Marcus Lemonis (48) left the amazed employees of the “Comedy Cellar” restaurant in Manhattan, New York City, a tip of 30,000 US dollars (the equivalent of around 26,600 euros ). The “New York Post” reports.

The generous tip shared by club staff was part of TV personality Lemonis’ The Great American Tip Off, described as a “nationwide call to action” , “To show a little more love to the hardworking Americans who serve us every day”.

Amy Schumer: “This is my home club”

Lemonis, who stars on CNBC’s “The Profit” and HGTV’s “The Renovator,” had a week ago posted a video on Instagram, which the duo shows when visiting the traditional comedy club in the city center. Schumer said to the staff: “This is my home club … this place changed my life.” Lemonis says to the club staff, “You work your fingers sore every day and that is underestimated. We want you to know that there are a lot of people out there who appreciate it.”

At the beginning of the year, Schumer helped start the club – where she began her career as a stand-up artist – together with her comedian colleagues Chris Rock (56), Ray Romano (63), Dave Attell (56) and Colin Quinn ( 62) after it closed in New York City during the Corona heyday. In 2019, she even performed in the iconic club just two weeks after the birth of her son.
