They do exist – the food duos that are unhealthy or inedible. We’ll tell you which ones they are.

Whether breakfast, lunch or dinner: Most of the time we have our nutritional routines and don’t think about which foods we combine. The bad news: some delicacies react negatively with one another. Poor digestion, lower vitamin / mineral intake or an unpleasant taste can result.

Kiwi and dairy products

Have you ever wanted to make yourself a delicious kiwi yoghurt and found out after a short time that the whole thing tastes rather bitter? Is completely normal! Because an enzyme in the kiwi (actinidain) breaks down the milk protein, which causes the bitter taste. In Ayurvedic nutrition, the combination of fruit and yoghurt is completely discouraged, as the fruit begins to ferment and toxins are formed in the gastrointestinal tract as a result.

Salad and low-fat dressing

Not a good idea, because the body needs fats in order to be able to absorb the vitamins. So up with the olive oil!

Ferrous foods and red wine

Whether a steak or a lentil stew – it is better not to drink red wine with it. Because it inhibits the so important iron absorption.

Dairy products and meat

A shake with the schnitzel? Better not. Two foods that are very high in protein make digestion quite difficult. Milk does not go too well with baked goods either.

Spinach and cheese

Tastes good but is not recommended. The reason: the calcium in cheese cannot be absorbed so well by the body – the oxalate in spinach prevents it from doing so.

Black tea and milk

Sorry, dear Englishmen. Since the milk binds the healthy antioxidants in tea, the body unfortunately goes empty-handed.

Alcohol and caffeine

What’s wrong with that? The caffeine can mean that one does not properly perceive the effects of the alcohol. Fatal!
