Barbara Sukowa has a healthy outlook on her age and appearance. A facelift doesn’t seem to be an option for the actress.
Is actress Barbara Sukowa (71, “grandchildren for beginners”) self-critical? “I definitely see myself older in the mirror than other people see me,” she says in an interview with “Welt am Sonntag”. She would often be told, “I look younger than I am, but I see my age”. An operation is still out of the question for the 71-year-old. “I always say to people who do a facelift or want an injection: You know, you don’t look the way you see yourself in the mirror.”
According to Sukowa’s statement, one would appear much more alive to one’s surroundings than one could perceive it for oneself. “Your eyes are telling something. You are telling something. You are moving. When you look in the mirror, you don’t look the way the world sees you,” she explains. Her opinion on beauty surgeries: “Stop it! You look better than you think. (Laughs)”
