Covid-19: absenteeism is sharply increasing in French companies


More than four out of five Parisian companies make this observation, according to a study by Medef Paris.

According to a study carried out by Medef Paris, “ the Delta / Omicron wave, the resurgence of teleworking and the increase in sick leaves disrupted nearly 100% of the Parisian companies questioned. Absenteeism is increasing for more than 4 out of 5 Parisian companies “.

Among the responding companies, 29% even state that between 10 and 25% of their workforce is currently on sick leave. But this absence is not always synonymous with a direct contraction of the coronavirus since for 43% of the companies questioned, it is also caused by the management of sick children or linked to the closure of classes or schools. And this, despite the isolation rules lightened since the beginning of January with in particular the end of the quarantine for people with contact cases with a complete vaccination schedule and isolation for a period of seven days for positive people also having a schedule. complete vaccine.

But this phenomenon does not only affect Parisian companies. “Since the beginning of January, absenteeism has reached up to + 40% in some factories which are forced to close lines”, observes Gaëtan Deffrennes, Managing Director of Randstad, one of the three main interim groups in France.

School transport impacted
