“Daily”: Edouard Philippe explains why he does not have a portrait of Emmanuel Macron in his office at the town hall of Le Havre: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Currently promoting his new book called Clear prints and lines, Edouard Philippe was present alongside Gilles Boyer on the set of the show Daily April 7, 2021 on TMC. During the program, Yann Barthès’ teams broadcast a report they produced in Le Havre on the one who was teased by Léa Salamé about his weight. The former prime minister notably opened the doors of the office he occupies thanks to his status as mayor of Le Havre. By going around the objects in the room, the journalist of Daily was somewhat surprised not to see a portrait of Emmanuel Macron hanging on the wall.

“No there never was in my office.” explained Edouard Philippe. “It is in the hall of the town hall where I do weddings and where I do official receptions.” added the one whose beard recently dumbfounded Internet users on Twitter. “But not in your office?” then insisted the journalist of TMC, before asking him the following question: “Have you seen him too much?”. “No. I don’t think it’s absolutely mandatory to put the photo of the president of the republic in his mayor’s office, “ replied the former prime minister, who is compared to a famous cartoon character by his daughter. “It’s like that.” he soberly concluded.

Edouard Philippe: “I did not have the photo of Nicolas Sarkozy in my office when I became mayor”

Back on set, Edouard Philippe, visibly embarrassed by his somewhat nonchalant response during the report, wanted to provide some explanations. “I would still like to specify that I became mayor in 2010, and that I did not have the photo of Nicolas Sarkozy in my office when I became mayor. I then did not have the photo of François Hollande when I was remained mayor. “ revealed the former head of government. “Don’t you like photos of presidents?” Yann Barthès then asked him jokingly. I don’t criticize those who do. There is obviously the portrait of the President of the Republic in the wedding hall as is the tradition, and there you go. “ concluded Edouard Philippe.
