A bathtub in the bedroom? That’s called an unusual living trend – there’s more to it than that, as a design psychologist explains.

Sanitary in the bedroom? We only know such wild ideas from hip hotels that, for whatever reason, think you absolutely have to have a glass shower in front of the bed. That could give the business trip an interesting turn – but well, we didn’t consider this trend to be really suitable for everyday use.

Now, however, a piece of furniture from the bathroom seems to have a desire for change. It’s not the shower and don’t worry, we are also spared the toilet in the bedroom. The bathtub would like to move in for this.

“It’s 100 percent ridiculous – and the coolest decision ever”

Amber Dunford put the idea into her head. She is a design psychologist and, in one of her compositions, thought about placing the bathtub in the bedroom. Whoever frowns at first, she even agrees: “It’s 100 percent ridiculous and probably the coolest decision ever. Seriously, just do it!”, Dunford told “Native Trails”.

There is more to this than a fixed idea. The design psychologist herself had just become a mother when she decided to integrate the bathtub into her bedroom. After pregnancy and childbirth, the room felt more like a prison, the bathtub made it a place to relax again: “I love the idea that a bathroom is seen much more than a ritual, a kind of self-care that takes place outside the bathroom. ” The main thing in the bathroom is to get ready, because it gets dirty. Bathing, on the other hand, is a much more sensual occupation that fits better into the bedroom.

Amber Dunford is also convinced that a well-furnished home is directly linked to well-being. So it is not only important how we find a room, but above all how we feel in it. And we usually feel pretty good in a bathtub – just like in bed.
