Duchess Meghan: "I was the most trolled person in the world"

Duchess Meghan spoke about mental health on a podcast and also shared her own experiences.

Duchess Meghan (39) spoke in a podcast, moderated by five California teenagers, that she was "the most trolled person" in the world. And how much she suffered from the many insulting and discriminatory comments on the net.

Meghan made a guest appearance on World Mental Health Day with her husband Prince Harry (36) on the "Teenager Therapy" podcast. "I was told that in 2019 I was the most trolled person in the whole world – male or female," Meghan told the students. She was not even visible for eight months at the time, because she was at home on maternity leave or with son Archie, who was born in May 2019. But stories were invented on the assembly line that she found almost unbearable: "It doesn't matter whether you're 15 or 25 when people say things about you that are not true – it damages your mental and emotional health . " Meghan later added that she is "really fine" now.

Prince Harry stated on the podcast that he preferred not to read anything that was written about him and his wife. In addition, the couple relies on meditation, as the two also revealed. Harry also stressed that men should open up to their feelings and not be afraid of being vulnerable – especially now that the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic are affecting everyone's mental health. "Talking about it is a sign of strength."

This is how her famous answer came about

Meghan also spoke on the podcast about the interview with Tom Bradby (53) that she gave with Harry during her trip to Africa last year and that caused a lot of buzz. "Not many people asked if I was okay," she said in front of the camera.

"I did not know that my answer would attract such an interest in the whole world," Meghan said now, adding that she was exhausted on the Africa trip. "I haven't thought about that answer … I answered this because I was in a vulnerable moment." She was a mother with a four and a half month old baby and was tired. Harry added that his wife was still breastfeeding at the time. Most people did not notice, according to Meghan, that she constantly ran back to all official appointments in between to look after her son.

Harry and Meghan moved to the US with Archie in the spring and no longer work for the royal family. They live in Santa Barbara, California.
