Four weeks before the federal election, the first TV triall of the top candidates will take place on Sunday. Where and when it works.

The general election on September 26th is approaching and with it the TV rounds with the candidates of the major parties. It starts with the TV triad on RTL on Sunday evening at prime time at 8.15 p.m. Pinar Atalay (43) and Peter Kloeppel (62) lead through the meeting of Annalena Baerbock (40, Greens), Armin Laschet (60, CDU) and Olaf Scholz (63, SPD).

What the broadcasters are planning

Interested parties can watch the trio on TV on RTL and the news broadcaster ntv, which belongs to the RTL group. Those who prefer to stream the debate can use the streaming offers from ntv and TVNow. The preliminary reporting begins on RTL at 8:10 p.m., on ntv at 8:05 p.m. Following the debate, both broadcasters are planning an analysis broadcast.

Political observers are eagerly awaiting which of the three candidates will succeed best in winning over the audience. Four weeks before the federal elections, most of the polls see the CDU, SPD and Greens closely together and a substantial part of the population entitled to vote is still undecided.

Where the candidates can still be seen

The Triell format will follow two more times before the federal election: on September 12th in public broadcasting on ARD and ZDF and on September 19th on ProSieben, Sat.1 and kabel eins. In addition, a four-way discussion will take place on September 13th at ARD and ZDF, then Christian Lindner (FDP) will join the three top candidates.

In addition, on September 6th, 7th and 15th, voters can experience the candidates individually in the ARD’s “Wahlarena”. Annalena Baerbock, Olaf Scholz and Armin Laschet face the editors-in-chief of NDR and WDR, Andreas Cichowicz and Ellen Ehni.
