Francis Fulton-Smith reveals in a personal interview how the corona pandemic has changed him and why he started martial arts.

“I never understood why people can stand in front of a meat counter, but not in front of a picture,” says Francis Fulton-Smith, 55, in the “Playboy” podcast “After Hours – The PLAYBOY Bar Talks” about the corona measures the past few months.

Francis Fulton-Smith: “It is a mystery to me to this day …”

The actor, who also celebrates success as a painter and draftsman, cannot explain why culture is not considered to be systemically relevant in Germany: “To this day, it is a mystery to me why people can travel in the subway but not in the theater sit.” Francis Fulton-Smith was personally severely affected by the restrictions. “I actually had ten exhibitions in 2020, and then there was Corona. That practically went down to zero,” the bitter conclusion of the artist.

Personally, however, he was also able to use the corona pandemic as an opportunity. “In this respect, it was a chance for me personally to get out of the hamster wheel and say: stop!”, Reveals the 55-year-old. Instead of “killing himself” or “getting drunk”, he started to go to the mountains. He has also dedicated himself to martial arts.

Separation from partner Claudia Hillmeier because of the corona pandemic

In March 2021, the “Familie Dr. Kleist” star announced the separation from his partner Claudia Hillmeier. The reason for the separation was also the corona pandemic, as Fulton-Smith revealed to “Bunte”. The travel restrictions due to the pandemic have made long-distance relationships nearly impossible. “We were very happy, but Covid has completely changed our lives and we were less and less able to cope with it. It became more complicated every week to see us because Claudia has her core business in the USA, I in Europe,” explained Francis Fulton-Smith the love out.
