The Fusion Festival will not take place in 2021 either. For a long time one had hoped for a realization through the development of a test concept.

The music and art festival Fusion in Lärz on the Mecklenburg Lake District has also been canceled for 2021 due to the corona pandemic. This was shared by the organizer Kulturkosmos Müritz eV on the official website With. The festival could not take place in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. “Unfortunately, we will not reach our goal of ‘Fusion 2021’ in time and have to postpone our long-awaited festival for the second time in a row,” the statement said. The tickets remained valid for 2022 or could be canceled.

With a modified concept, the merger was originally supposed to take place from June 24th to July 4th on two weekends with 35,000 guests each. According to the organizers, the last few months have been difficult – “from the division of the festival into two parts, through the hopeful development of our hygiene and test concept, to the reality of the failure of the vision of realizing the festival” The concept included PCR mass tests and several test stations that were to be set up for festival visitors in Lärz, but also in Berlin, Hamburg and Leipzig. The association also agrees with criticism in the communication: “The merger in 2021 would have been possible if politicians had acted consistently in good time!”

With around 70,000 visitors, the fusion is one of the largest alternative music, art and theater festivals in Europe. The next edition is scheduled to take place from June 29th to July 3rd, 2022.
