The first Masters Tour of 2022, the Onyxia Lair competition obviously invited some of the brand new dragons from the mini set. It was ultimately the Chinese player JrsLoveStorm who won against the British Judgment (3-1), after a top 8 full of pitfalls.
The Masters Tours Onyxia’s Lair, the first tournament of this type in 2022, will have been rather proactive from a Hearthstone meta point of view, to say the least. Indeed, the event started a handful of hours only after the release of the eponymous mini set. In fact, the competitors had very little time to prepare their lists, and to test them.
Never mind: many players have decided to integrate some of the brand new dragons that the mini set brought into their decks. Headlining: the very powerful Kazakusanwhich in just a few days has become a win-condition size for control decks. Associated with the Wrathful Horn of the priest as well as the ability of the druid to ramp towards the 8 mana crystals, the legendary card found its way into at least two archetypes very present in the competition.
The tournament, on the other hand, proved to be delicate for the French speakers, since none of uex will have reached the sacrosanct top 8.

Two other Masters Tour are already scheduled for the first half of 2022. The first will take place between March 18 and 21, and the second between April 22 and 24.
Each event is constructed as follows:
- Day 1: 4 rounds of Swiss rounds
- Day 2: 4 additional rounds of Swiss rounds
- Day 3: top 16 in knockout playoffs, then top 8
All matches are played in Conquest format with 1 ban.
