The drag queen Nina Queer will not take part in the "jungle show". Instead, Sam Dylan should be there.

Actually, the drag queen Nina Queer (35) should be seen in this year's jungle camp replacement on RTL (also on TV Now). But instead of Queer, Sam Dylan, known from "Prince Charming", will take part in "I'm a Star – The Great Jungle Show". The broadcaster has now announced that. Nina Queer had already caused a stir with her statements in 2017. RTL has now distanced itself.

"Against the background of current discussions and our attitude to clearly condemn all forms of anti-Semitism, racism and discrimination, we cannot and do not want to offer someone who calls themselves 'Hitler-Transe' a platform in an entertainment program," it says of the sender in a message. There is no "gray area". Nina Queer is recognized as an artist, "but whoever publicly chooses such terms, whether intended as a mere provocation or not, we consequently don't want to offer a stage," explains RTL Managing Director Jörg Graf.

That happened

In 2017, the drag queen faced accusations of racism in connection with statements about a homophobic attack in Berlin. In the summer of 2020, she said in an interview with the "Tagesspiegel": "Then I'll be the first Hitler tranny there is, then I'll take it that way." Now Nina Queer is to be replaced by Sam Dylan, who participated in the first season of "Prince Charming" in 2019. In 2021 there will be no conventional jungle camp to see due to the corona pandemic. From January 15th, "I'm a Star – The Great Jungle Show" will be shown every day instead, in which a celebrity candidate can earn a "Golden Ticket" for the jungle 2022.

The station also explains that "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" has already shown its attitude. What is meant is the scandal about Michael Wendler (48), former juror at DSDS, who left the show a few weeks ago and at the same time made speeches with corona conspiracy theories.

In a statement by RTL, the show recently said: "The following broadcast was recorded in September 2020. After filming was over, a juror spread conspiracy theories and we ended our further collaboration. With the broadcast of the first episode of 'DSDS', the Juror once again publicly disseminated completely unsustainable statements. That is why we decided to cut him out of the casting series. We condemn all forms of anti-Semitism, racism and discrimination in the strongest possible terms. "
