Michael Wendler: Fashion brand is demanding back 250,000 euros and is threatening a lawsuit

"Uncle Sam" founder Michael Geiss has confirmed that the brand is demanding back 250,000 euros from Michael Wendler. A lawsuit is also possible.

Michael Wendler (48, "Doesn't matter") could face a lawsuit involving a lot of money. The fashion brand "Uncle Sam" is demanding back 250,000 euros after its sudden exit from the jury of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar", coupled with a frontal attack on RTL and the spread of conspiracy theories. "Uncle Sam" founder Michael Geiss (54), who built up the company together with his brother Robert Geiss (56) from 1986, confirmed this to the "Bild" newspaper.

"I saw Wendler's video and then it was done for me. His involvement with 'DSDS' was our contractual basis. I didn't really care who was sitting next to Dieter Bohlen, I was just concerned with an effective positioning my brand, "says Geiss. Since Wendler can no longer act as an advertising face as agreed, they have "announced the termination of the contract" and are now claiming the 250,000 euros paid back. "So far there has been no reaction from Wendler. I'm really disappointed," Geiss continues.

Legal action could have consequences

And not only that: Geiss has now also confirmed to RTL that he will not shy away from filing a lawsuit against Wendler if he does not comply with the demands. The sender itself also takes the same into account. In a statement by the broadcaster's boss Jörg Graf (54) on October 9th: "We will examine and exhaust all legal means available to us." The original plan was to broadcast the church wedding of Wendler and Laura Müller (20) live on television in 2021. However, since the 48-year-old "canceled our contract independently and without consulting and vilified RTL", this plan is no longer adhered to.

These are just two sources of income that Wendler lost after his dubious statements about the corona pandemic. His manager Markus Krampe (44) had in the RTL special edition of "Pocher – dangerously honest!" said on October 8th that shortly after his views became known, he had "15 lawyers on the line" in a very short time who wanted to terminate all existing contracts with the artist with immediate effect. The supermarket chain Kaufland was one of the first to distance itself from the statements of the singer and pulled out a commercial with him.
