Ingredients for 4 cups

  • 1 bottle of red wine (0.7 l)
  • 100 ml orange juice
  • 75 grams of rock candy
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 cloves
  • 4 mini oranges (kumquats)

preparation

  1. Heat the red wine, orange juice, sugar, vanilla sugar and the spices in a large saucepan over a low heat for about 10 minutes. Then let it steep on the lowest level for about 50 minutes.
  2. Then rinse the mini oranges with hot water, cut them into slices and divide them into four glasses.
  3. Pour the mulled wine through a sieve into the glasses and serve immediately.

tip: Put the spices in a tea bag or a tea infuser and cook, then remove. So you don’t have to laboriously remove the spices later.
