There are intimate insights that RTL star Nazan Eckes, 45, revealed in an interview with “Bild”. For the first time, Eckes speaks about her relationship with her father, who has dementia. Necmettin Üngör, 77, and her mother Gülser Üngör, 69, are currently in Turkey, where Nazan also spent some time with her parents.
Nazan Eckes’ father lives in his “own little world”
The fact that Eckes’ family is currently in Turkey seems to be good for her father. According to the 45-year-old, Necmettin Üngör reacts primarily to local music that evokes childhood memories. “Otherwise he is happy in his own little world,” explains Nazan Eckes. Nevertheless, the situation is difficult – especially for the family.
“For us relatives it is sad to see him like this. Dad has not recognized me and my sons for a long time,” explains the moderator, explaining her family situation. During this time, her own children are a great motivation.
The RTL presenter wants to stay strong for her children
Eckes’ sons Louis, 7, and Ilyas, 5, are reinforcement and change at the same time. Nazan explains in an interview that her children would make her laugh again and again. “I pull myself together for her,” said the mother of two.
The 45-year-old will spend Christmas with her sons and husband Julian Khol, 41, in Austria. But your thoughts will surely be with your father.
