The Federal Council announced the new measures to combat the corona virus last Friday. In addition to the renewed obligation to work from home and tightened measures for the catering industry, new regulations for sport and leisure also apply.
Anyone who wants to go swimming in the indoor pool must be vaccinated or recovered – and the vaccination must not be more than four months ago. If this is the case, you have to show a negative test result in addition to the certificate before you can be admitted.
The reactions of the indoor pools to the new measures are mixed. “Difficult”, for example, assesses Stephan Bosshard from the indoor swimming pool in Kilchberg ZH about the new measures. “The control is very complex and takes a lot of time.”
Although the visitors were all vaccinated and tested, they still lacked patience and understanding for the measures, said Bosshard. “We had to block the existing subscriptions in order to store the certificate,” he explains the implementation of the measures.
The app should be adapted to new measures
Bosshard also criticizes “mental arithmetic”. “When checking the certificates, there is no option to automatically see how long ago the vaccination was. The employees have to work out in their heads whether the guest has to present an additional test or not. “
Bosshard solves the problem with a specially designed Excel table, but would like a new option for the certificate app. “It’s a bit tedious like this, maybe you should be able to change the app,” he says.
In the municipality of Geroldswil ZH, the first visitors also adhered to 2G + in an exemplary manner, as one employee confirmed. The employees of the indoor swimming pool in Zurich-Oerlikon made similar observations. Here all bathers could have a certificate and, if necessary, a negative test.
Some guests had to be sent home
The city of Zurich opens some indoor swimming pools early in the morning, at 6 a.m. According to Manuela Schläpfer, communications officer at the Zurich Sports Office, among the early risers there were also a few who were not even aware of the new measures and were rejected for this reason. “But this was within the expected framework,” she explains.
The reactions of the guests are also very different, according to Schläpfer. “There are people who welcome the new requirements. Those who want stricter measures. And there are again people who have little understanding for the new adjustments. ” Only in the City Indoor Pool, however, were there slightly fewer guests in the early morning than in the previous weeks.
