Qantas offers a seven-hour scenic flight to nowhere in Australia

"Great Southern Land Scenice Flight" is the name of the initiative, during which well-known holiday paradises such as the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, Byron Bay and Sydney Harbor are flown over. The plane is scheduled to take off on October 10th.

The windows of the Dreamliner (Boeing 787-9) are extremely large, so that the passengers can now at least marvel at their land from the air: "There are no border restrictions in the sky," it said. Because of the corona pandemic, not only have the borders in Down Under been closed to visitors from abroad for months, travel between the individual states is also still largely prohibited.

Qantas: "There are no limits in heaven"

"Six months ago we would never have thought that we would not be able to get on a plane and visit family members in other parts of the country or travel internationally," said company boss Alan Joyce. According to the announcement, the flight was sold out after a short time.

Qantas is also confident in the long term: "After overcoming this crisis, we will be the only Australian airline that can operate long-haul flights," the airline said.
