Recall: Metal splinters found in pastries

There is a huge recall of several types of pastry from the supermarket. They could contain metal fragments and should therefore not be eaten.

Well, who of you always has something sweet in the house? A supply of biscuits and the like makes not only us happy, but also surprising guests. But now one should be careful: Because it is precisely these happiness-makers in our candy drawers that are being recalled.

The recall affects several types of biscuits from various brands, including small marble cakes and cake stars. Specifically, these are the following products:

In addition, Rewe is currently informing about a recall from PICO Food GmbH, which also sells pastries:

  • Fine stars from PICO Food GmbH
  • In the 250 gram pack
  • The following varieties:
    • Fine stars
    • Barcode: 4004363005005

    • Fine star cocoa
    • Barcode: 4004363005012

    • Fine star raisins
    • Barcode: 4004363005029

The pastries were sold in several supermarkets. At the supermarket chain Rewe, branches in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony, Saxony Anhalt and Thuringia are affected.

The reason for both recalls is contamination with foreign objects. The manufacturer can therefore not rule out that there are bits of metal in the cakes. The pastries should therefore no longer be eaten, as the smallest foreign bodies could in the worst case lead to internal injuries.

If you already have the pastries in the house, you can simply bring them back to the store. There, customers should get the purchase price refunded even without a receipt. And don't worry: other products or best-before dates should not be affected!
