Saint-Gobain to acquire Indian rock wool producer Rockwool India


PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones) – The Saint-Gobain building materials group announced on Tuesday that it had reached an agreement to acquire Indian rock wool producer Rockwool India from its parent company Alghanim.

Rockwool India markets a complete range of insulation products with thermal, acoustic and fire-resistant properties and uses Saint-Gobain technology, under license, for the manufacture of stone wool in India, the French group said in a statement. The company has two factories in India with a total production capacity of 50.00 tons.

The acquisition, the amount of which has not been communicated, should be finalized during the first quarter of 2022. It is fully in line with the “Grow & Impact” strategic plan and will strengthen the group’s presence in Asia, particularly in India. , underlined Saint-Gobain.
