The Xiaomi 14 Pro would have at least one point in common with the iPhone 15 Pro and the Galaxy S24

According to reports from China, the new Xiaomi 14 Pro would also adopt a titanium chassis. The device would then follow a trend that Apple should launch very soon with its new iPhone 15 Pro and that we should also find on Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Titanium could well be the material of the year 2023 / 2024 in the smartphone market. While Apple should announce iPhone 15/15 Pro equipped with a chassis made from this metal, and while Samsung would follow suit early next year with the Galaxy S24, we learn from a Chinese source that Xiaomi would also like to equip its future Xiaomi 14 Pro with a titanium frame.

In any case, this is what the sometimes well-informed leaker DigitalChatStation suggests. Failing to specifically mention the Xiaomi 14 Pro, the person explains that Xiaomi would rely on many new materials for the frame and back of its next high-end smartphone. According to ITHome’s cross-checks from other rumors, these new features would indeed concern the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

Xiaomi 14 Pro: a high-end smartphone that promises to be attractive

While waiting for other details to possibly support it, we will nevertheless take the (credible) lead of a titanium chassis for the Xiaomi 14 Pro with a grain of salt. Note that we should soon be sure, with DigitalChatStation adding that the release of Xiaomi’s new flagship is expected in less than two months.

Still according to the leaker, the device would have a chassis with straight sides and a screen with curved edges. We also learned a few weeks ago that this new smartphone would be one of the first to be equipped with the future Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (which Qualcomm is due to announce at the end of October in Hawaii). This SoC would in this case be powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, benefiting from 120 W fast charging and 50 W wireless charging.

As a reminder, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 would benefit from a “1+5+2” configuration, with a very high performance Cortex-X4 core, five Cortex-A720 cores and two high energy efficiency Cortex-A520 cores. The SoC would also be equipped with an Adreno 750 GPU part to offer even more robust graphics performance. Clearly, with this processor, the Xiaomi 14 Pro would automatically be one of the most powerful smartphones on the market.
